REVIEW:

Manta Queen 3 is our favourite liveaboard of the entire Manta Queen fleet!

Whereas all 8 of the Manta Queen liveaboards are quite similar and travel the same route, Manta Queen 3 has slightly more spacious cabins.

Like the rest of her fleet, she is modestly priced despite offering up to 4 dives a day.

She is a spacious and comfortable yacht with excellent relaxation zones including a partially shaded sundeck with plenty of hammocks and an open dining and bar area.

Choose from twin/double ensuite cabins or twin/quad cabins with shared bathrooms. All cabins have aircon and some of the more expensive options offer ocean views.

The crew and dive guides are extremely friendly and helpful. The Manta Queen fleet has been running a while now and subsequently her employees have a lot of experience and are highly capable.

Manta Queen 5 explores the Similan and Surin archipelagos; two national parks with white beaches, mighty boulders and evergreen forests above water and spectacular hard coral reefs and walls below.

Look out for leopard sharks, black tip reef sharks, blue spotted stingrays, seahorses and turtles as well as countless fish and molluscs. Between January and April it’s also possible to see manta rays and whale sharks!

Guests only require their open water certification and no extra logged dives, making Manta Queen 5 a suitable liveaboard for beginners.

Heads up though, the Similans can experience currents so having some drift dive experience will be useful!
All things considered, Manta Queen 5 is a superb budget friendly Thai liveaboard.

She might not have kayaks like The Junk or loads of extra activities like Merdeka 3, but for the low price and popular diving itinerary, she offers superb value for money.

"The staff was great. The boat was clean. The dive instructors did their best to find the best marine life around the islands. And above all, the food was excellent ! The all trip ran smoothly, from check in to our return".

"The food was probably the best tasting food I have had on any liveaboard. The hammocks on the top sun deck was the best, slept there the rest of the trip after one horrible night in the cabin. Thai crew so humble, fast working, and very happy".

"Both the boat staff and dive staff were very nice and accommodating. The chefs kindly cooked me vegan meals and the dive staff were patient and understanding. I did my AOWD and Enriched air (nitrox) and come out of this great experience with another 2 qualifications. Keen to come back next year"
